Today we have an extremely talented young authoress Devanshi Sharma, author of No Matter What I Do: I end up Falling for You with us. So, without wasting more of our time lets start the interview.
1. Tell us about yourself.
Defining yourself is one of the trickiest tasks to do. But, if you ask me, there are three words that more or less speak about Devanshi—workaholic, dreamer and stubborn. I dream, and I try to work as hard as I can to achieve it with a stubborn positive attitude. That’s what’s needed to achieve your aims, isn’t it?
2. What brought you in this writing world?
Imagination and love for stories. Even as a kid, I loved making up stories and narrating them, I am doing the same, the only difference is that now, they are more realistic!
3. What after writing?
My family is the first priority in my life, after which comes writing and then the list concludes. So, that’s writing in my life.
4. What made you write No Matter What I Do: I end up Falling for You?
No Matter What I Do is a story that narrates four stories knitted in one string. When I was writing it, I simply wanted to make people love tea with salt! In simpler words, I wanted my readers to know about Amaira and her story. The story also talks of Kabir, Suhani and Kushank, who like most of us are struggling to find the right path. It is a story amidst us, I thought why not share it with my readers?
5. Tell us a name of a fictional character that resembles you and why?
I think that each person and each character is shaped individualistically and therefore, comparing two individuals is not something I usually prefer. So, I would say I resemble to Devanshi!
6. According to you what is the real meaning of literature?
Literature means world. Having been a student of English Literature myself, I feel that literature is one subject that covers all layers of human behavior and society. So, when you want to know everything about human beings, you refer to literature.
7. Names of authors you follow. And why?
I love reading Indian authors, naming a few they are, Ruskin Bond for the reason that how he defines mountains, no one else can. Another writer I love is Manju Kapoor for her realistic and gray characters.
8. Anything about your upcoming work?
Well, it is a novel about characters like us, who make mistakes, who fall down, and who still want to get up and move ahead. No one’s perfect so why not celebrate imperfection? And, why go with wrong when right is an option?
9. How can our readers connect with you?
I’d be more than glad to connect with my readers on Facebook. They can visit my website, devanshisharma.in to know more about all my books and latest updates.
10. Any words to newbies?
No one’s a newbie and all of us are newbies. What I’d say to my friends who aspire to write is that No Matter What happens, write ad infinitum. I know writing is a journey in itself, with waves of ups and downs but just stick to your story and make it happen, trust me after all the waves, you will never regret the amount of work, effort and emotions that you’ve put in your work! On that note, Keep writing!
