Interview Session- Aniruddha Pathak

Hello everyone,

Today’s interview is a little special one for me. Aniruddha Pathak is the author of Canvas of a Storyteller and AbstracTales. This guy took my interview two years and now I am interviewing him. See how amazing player this time is.

So here we start…

1. Tell us about yourself.

Hello, this is Aniruddha Pathak. Speaking about me, I am a computer science student; and I indulge into many other interests: including writing, YouTubing, blogging, and most importantly, spreading motivational words. I am an Author of two books, namely Canvas of a Storyteller and AbstracTales, and my unpublished novel—Lily in the Way, is a NaNoWrimo 2016 winner. I take great interest in technological stuffs as well, and am associated with many online forums as well.

2. What brought you in this writing world?

I started writing when I was 11. I wrote several poems in Marathi in my earliest days of writing, and slowly moved towards stories. Later when I joined the internet, I began writing in English watching many teenagers writing in their busy schedules. Those people inspired me, and later my readers inspired me to keep on writing.

3. What after writing?

Computers, of course. I am a Computer Science student so my profession would remain the same. Being said that, I would also like to explore other things in book publishing industry—I am never leaving my passion behind; it will always stay with me along with my profession.

4. What made you write Canvas of a Storyteller?

So many factors: including my readers, the people and their stories, and the basic idea of letting the people know other people through one attempt. The thought of Canvas of a Storyteller (abbreviation: CoaSt) struck in April 2016, where my alter ego—Ani is the storyteller and narrator and tells you various stories and makes you familiar with all the human emotions along the way.

CoaSt has significantly been impressively performing on the selling charts, and has received awesome critic reviews as well. I get many messages from my readers where they tell me the number of times they have read Canvas of a Storyteller till date. And that for me is one of the biggest accomplishments.

 5. What is your next book AbstracTales all about?

With AbstracTales, I am stepping into Horror writing after a gap of a year. The story that I have written is fast paced and ‘Desi’, a type that I have avidly been reading in Marathi literature. The biggest challenge (I was afraid and tensed cause I hadn’t attempted it for a year or so) for me was to maintain the pace and the suspense—till the last moment, and from what I have heard from my readers, I have been successful in doing the same. And I am happy about it.

Being said that, I am happier to work with my co-authors: Ankita Rathour, Kritika Sharma, and Pallavi Sareen who wrote awe-striking stories in AbstracTales. That means the readers get a mastamagorical reading treat, that has all the powerful genres—Horror, Thriller, Fantasy, and Romance.

6. Tells us a name of the character that resembles you?

The character of Ani in Canvas of a Storyteller, of course! Haha! It’s funny to say that I implemented most of my traits in that character, and made it an essential part of the book.

7. According to you what is the real meaning of literature?

For me, Literature comprises of several important factors—words, storytelling, respect towards your craft, emotional connection, observations, and most importantly, it must be treated as a responsibility…for you are offering your powerful words to the world.

8. Names of authors you follow. And why?

I follow a notable number of Authors. Each Author teaches me something valuable.

Ratnakar Matkari, Laxman Londhe and Narayan Dharap are my all time favorites in Marathi literature.

For English, I follow Robin Cook, John Green, Neil D’Silva, Kavipriya Moorthy, Jojo Meyes, Sidney Sheldon, and many more.

9. Anything about your upcoming work?

Currently, I am working on a plot that reflects human psychology and stress. I have been experimenting with many genres lately, and this story struck me out of nowhere one day. I would reveal the details soon.

10. What else after writing?

As I stated above, Computers and Publishing.
